Yes, my website keep on growing. More than 20,000 unique visitors have checked it up to now.

I’m still working on it. I try to upload pictures on a regular basis. And I’ve made little some modifications (for example: the Browse page link has been renamed Gallery for a better comprehension.

Now, I will change a little my CSS to improve the main visual “look-and-feel” of my website.

I’ve reached my first goal: more than 10,000 unique visitors this month.  Next goal : 20,000 !

I have fixed some little bugs so now I’m quite sure that the website is nearly “perfect”. I will perhaps modify the available links in the right corner. Putting for example the link to my blog in the contact page. So I will be able to free some space to add a help page.

Normally, next month this site will have more than 100 pictures again another goal.

I still upload some pictures from time to time. Since I’ve started with the new version of my website , I receive nice comments and feedback from visitors and models. I’ve modified my archive page because it was too similar to my browse page.

In future weeks, I will make a “complete” redesign of the look of the website, more “personal” less “cold”. I still ask myself if I must watermark my pictures. It’s hard to find a “nice” watermark that can fit all styles of pictures.

Time to check my statistics.

I’ve added a statistics console to my website. I’m testing it and I compare to the log files from the server but it seems that it works great. If you go to My website archives page, at the bottom you will see some statistics about my website.

Of course, as the administrator of the website I have access to many more informations. You’ve been warned, Big Brother is watching you. I’m still uploading more pictures and creating some new tags. Little by little, I fill up the fields of the database. Perhaps, it’s time for some database optimizing.

I’m still creating those tags and categories for my website. The creation itself is very easy, just adding some fields in a database but choosing the right tag and/or category is another matter. For the moment, I have only 2 active categories: showcase and default. Showcase category contains my “best” pictures and the default one … the rest.

I’ve created a category by type of pictures like portrait, glamour, artistic nude and a category called misc. The main problem is not to mix tags and categories uses. I see category as a collection and/or a group of pictures and tags define the elements inside the category. Men is the category, rich is the tag.

Now, it’s perhaps time to create a nice biography page but I must admit I’m not very interested in describing myself. I think my work must speak for me.

But that’s an another story.

Well, I’ve started a “massive” upload of pictures. Not only to create more tags and categories but also to see how my new website will react with content.

Each of my models will have her own tag. For example, my model Nikki Nora will be tagged as nikki_nora, my model Marie-Anne will be tagged as marie-anne. Underscore symbol will used to separate first and last names and the dash will be used for first names into 2 parts (Marie-Anne, Anne-Sophie, …). All tags are always in lower case.

This day, my One Model Place portfolio has 37 showcases. Good news. It’s nearly a ratio of 1:2 pictures showcased. My bed stories series of pictures really rocks and I’m happy with that because it was a kind of challenge for me. I would like to thanks all my models for their great job on this series.

Time to go back for some uploads and tags creation.

In this article, I will explain how I will categorize my pictures (and it will be for me a kind of reminder too).

Categories and tags are available. Categories will be the same as the usual ones you can see in other websites.  Portrait, Lingerie, Glamour, Nude, Misc(ellaneous), Pin-up and finally Showcase.

I will use tags to make filtering more powerful, for example the model’s name will be used as a tag. I’ve created a tag called raw, who refers to a picture directly uploaded from Lightroom to the website. The tag “final_version” will indicate that the picture is “good for production” and needs no more processing.

Well, after a lot of adventures, it’s good to be home again. So, I’ve decided to make it. A new website with a new design, new cool features, and so on… If you haven’t seen it yet, you aren’t cool, man!

More seriously now. The main objective of the new website is to show you my work. I’m using a simple interface and design to keep the update process “under control” and easy to do. I’ve got a lot of things to do each day. So efficiency is very important to me.

Of course, I’m still in a “test phase” but I think this new concept for my website will be “a big step forward”. Basically, the interface and database are working and won’t change a lot. So now, I’ve just have to “fill in” the fields and add some content.

To do list:

• create categories, tags for an optimal and easy-to-use navigation. [priority 1]
• create new thumbnails (for picture in landscape mode or square-like).[priority 2]
• add pictures. [priority 2]
• create a “nice” biography/about page. [priority 3]
• create a help page (navigation help). [priority 4]
• listening comments and advices for users and visitors. [always]

So for the moment, I think it’s enough. Stay tuned for the next episode.
